Attention Cadets: School starts promptly at 7:30 AM every day. Please be on time!

Dear PMA Families:

As the academy superintendent of The Philadelphia Military Academy (“PMA, “the Academy”), I am deeply committed to every cadet under our guidance receiving an education of the highest quality, tailored to prepare them both for future academic pursuits and for the disciplined life that a career in the military demands.

We recognize the unique needs of our cadets who have chosen a path that requires extraordinary commitment, discipline, and leadership. It is therefore our solemn duty and mission to foster an environment that not only challenges our cadets intellectually but also strengthens their physical and ethical foundations.

To achieve these goals, we are dedicated to:

1. Providing Academic Excellence: Ensuring that our curriculum is rigorous, diverse, and aligns with both state standards and the specific needs of our cadets who aspire to military and civilian careers. We will continuously update our teaching methods and curriculum to incorporate the latest educational practices and technologies.

2. Supporting Our Teachers: Investing in regular professional development for our faculty so they are equipped with the tools to support each cadet’s unique learning journey and to inspire them towards excellence.

3. Fostering Leadership: Cultivating leadership skills is at the heart of our mission. Each cadet will be provided with opportunities to lead, whether in the classroom, on the field, or in community service, ensuring they develop the confidence and competence to lead ethically and effectively in their future roles.

4. Prioritizing Well-Being: Acknowledging the rigorous demands of a military academy, we commit to supporting the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of our cadets. This includes providing resources such as counseling services, wellness programs, and a supportive school culture.

5. Engaging the Community: Building strong relationships with parents, alumni, military institutions, and the local community to create a network of support and opportunity for our cadets.

6. Ensuring a Safe and Respectful Environment: Maintaining a school environment where every cadet feels safe, respected, and valued, irrespective of their background or beliefs. This is non-negotiable and fundamental to their success and well-being.

7. Preparing for Future Success: Whether our cadets choose to continue in military service or pursue other career paths, we are committed to providing them with the guidance and support to transition smoothly into their next phase of life, equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge.

As the academy superintendent, I pledge to be a visible, accessible, and proactive leader, continuously seeking input from all stakeholders and responding to the evolving needs of our academy and its cadets. Let us move forward with a shared vision of honor, excellence, and continual growth, ensuring that each cadet at Philadelphia Military Academy is prepared to lead with integrity and courage.

Together, we will uphold the proud traditions of our academy while pushing the boundaries of what our cadets can achieve. Thank you for your trust and collaboration as we work towards these noble goals.

Please do not hesitate to call me if you have any issues regarding your cadet’s education.

FERPA Announcement

Attention families: The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), a Federal law, requires that a school with certain exceptions obtain your written consent prior to the disclosure of personally identifiable information from your child’s education records. However, a school may disclose appropriately designated “directory information” without written consent, unless you have advised the school to the contrary in accordance with school district procedures. The primary purpose of directory information is to allow schools to include information from your child’s education records in certain school publications.

Parents who wish to opt their students out of directory information releases must complete an Opt-Out Form for each of their students, and must return each form to the school at which each student is enrolled by November 6, 2023.
